Pole Testing
Resistograph Electronic Drill Testing
Is a modern electronic drill that can provide a graphical representation of the type and extent of decay in a pole. Wherever necessary both at, and below ground line measurements will be done, especially below ground line. The Resistograph uses a 1.5 - 2 mm drill bit and it causes very little or no damage; there is no need to plug the hole. No excavation is normally necessary to assess the internal decay below ground line.
Traditional Sound & Bore Testing
Gas or electric drill and shell guage to detect internal decay below or at groundline.
Possible information Obtained from Testing
- Pole strength and life
- Mechanical, insect & woodpecker damage
- Surface rot and cracks
- Feathering at top
- Crookedness & out-of-plumb
- Decay at and below GL
- Pole height, conductor size & level, span, accessories, etc.
- "snapshot" of pole and severe damage
